Pinstripe Swing is a fun, lively, high-energy (up to) 8-piece swing and vocal jazz ensemble.
Pinstripe Swing offers a variety of performances: one is designed specifically for swing and Lindy Hop dance clubs, another is a Speakeasy / Prohibition show, and one mixes classic vocal and Ratpack jazz with upbeat swing and funk classics (including James Brown and Stevie Wonder) for function work.
Robin is the arranger and band-leader of Pinstripe and is joined onstage by a collection of highly-talented musicians who combine intricate ensemble playing with inspiring solo capabilities.
Jazz vocalist, Kirsty, adds the second voice to the ensemble providing electric performance and sophisticated vocal harmony delivery. Together, Robin and Kirsty present an engaging and exciting front line vocal team.
Few bands can rival the ensemble’s mix of classic vocal jazz with energetic upbeat swing and funk. Pinstripe Swing is also one of only a few bands covering the swing genre from across the 20th century, including the exciting '90s swing revival in the US.
Pinstripe Swing performs across the UK and in Europe and has performed for swing dance clubs including the London Swing Dance Society's Stompin' night at the famous 100 Club.
Pinstripe Swing is a resident band at the fantastic speakeasy bar, NightJar performing at the prohibition-styled venue in Old Street, London, on the 3rd Saturday of each month.
2012 saw Pinstripe Swing perform at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the venue's Ignite music series.
